Gargoyles Sunglass Technology
Ordinary sunglasses block UVA, UVB and UVC light from the front, but these infrared rays can still reach your eyes from the unprotected sides.
That's why Gargoyles developed the patented wrapback design. It provides distortion-free comfort and clarity with a 210 degree curved line of defense against light, dust and debris.
The Dual Lens Toric Curve™ with its patented zero-prism design, corrects for refraction so your eyes don't have to. The image your eyes receive is always accurate so they don't have to work overtime.
The result is you're free to see without distortion, headaches or dizziness.

Patented Dual Toric Curve
Unlike ordinary sunglasses, Gargoyles have been specifically designed to eliminate refraction by incorporating a special patented Zero-Prism Design called Dual Lens Toric Curve. This sophisticated design minimizes the refraction associated with other lens designs. The information your eyes receive is true. And you don’t have to work overtime to process it. The result is pure visual comfort without distortion, headaches or dizziness.
Gargoyles engineers discovered that the optimal lens design for minimizing peripheral distortion would require dual-lenses. In a dual-lens design, the optical center of each lens can be aligned with the visual center of the eye. This eliminates eye irritation, headaches and dizziness which may be associated with long-term use of competing lens designs—a key reason why demanding medical professionals and the military have chosen to wear
Gargoyles.
The patented Wrapback design provides your eyes with as much peripheral protection as possible. Gargoyles provide up to 210 degrees of wrapback coverage without creating distortion.

Gargoyles Safey Eyewear
All Gargoyles Safety Eyewear exceeds ANSI Z87.1 and OSHA standards for optical clarity and impact resistance. OSHA Standards (--) 29 CFR, Eye and Face Protection (--) 1910.133 Federal regulated standards in which employers must comply for the protection and safety of their employees. This standard obligates employers to enforce the uses of appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to hazardous materials, liquids, vapors,
chemicals or other harmful substances. It provides specific requirements of such protection allowed in the workplace. OSHA references ANSI Z87.1
as the benchmark standard for occupational eye and face protection. Section (b) (1) Protective eye and face devices purchased after July 5, 1994 shall comply with ANSI Z87.1-1989, "American National Standard Practice for Occupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection, which is incorporated by reference as specified in Sec. 1910.6. www.osha.gov ANSI Z87.1 - Practice for occupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection Standard Z87.1
(--) 1979 American National Standard Institute is a private, non-profit organization. It includes the specific standards for evaluating factors such as impact resistance, lens thickness, projectile penetration, and optical quality.

Polycarbonate Protection
Gargoyles polycarbonate lens offers such exceptional impact resistance that it can withstand the impact of a .22 caliber bullet fired from just ten feet away.
The lenses are 50 times stronger than safety glass and 20 times stronger than structural aluminum. They exceed the ANSI Z87.1 and OSHA requirements.
All Gargoyles lenses guard your eyes with 100% UVA, B, and C protection. Our lenses are coated with a NASA derived scratch-resistant and anti-fog coating, which offers 30% more protection than conventional coatings.

Lens Mirroring
On select lenses, Gargoyles uses the most advanced lens mirroring processes available to control the amount of light reaching your eye. Our technology is so advanced that up to 12 individual layers are used.
