Smith Sunglass Technology
Tapered Lens Technology™
Visual distortion occurs when light waves hit an aggressively curved lens causing it to refract or distort. This distortion results in a reduction in optical clarity.

Smith's Tapered Lens Technology™ corrects the distortion inherent in standard 8 and 9 base lens curves by progressively tapering the lens toward the outer edge. This way, light waves are delivered straight to your eye. The result? Zero distortion.
Grilamid® Frames
In theory, Grilamid is a rugged, resilient frame material that's specially formulated for flex, impact strength and dimensional stability. In practice, it's tough enough to withstand the most aggressive physical punishment your body is willing to endure.

Hydrophilic Megol®
Smith's rubberized nose pads and temple ends are made from moisture absorbing hydrophilic Megol. As you sweat the Megol becomes tack, keeping the sunglasses positioned comfortable on your face, even during the most rigorous sports activites.

Polarized Lens:
Light waves traveling freely can vibrate in any direction. When light strikes a horizontal reflecting surface, such as water, sand or pavement, it vibrates horizontally, creating glare.

Smith's Waterman's™ Series polarized lenses with their Horizontal Glare Reduction™ (HGR) filter are designed to specifically filter out 99% of reflected glare. The end result is enhanced visual acuity and reduced eye fatigue.

Techlite™Lens:
To create the lightweight Techlite lenses, Smith used the highest quality borosilicate glass ground down to the desired thickness and polished by precision machinery. Then each lens is chemically-tempered in a nitrate bath for increased shatter-resistance. The result is a lens that has the highest optical clarity and scratch resistance of any lens material available and is significantly lighter than standard glass lenses.

Carbonic™ Lens:
The Smith Carbonic lenses feature the Tapered Lens Technology and provide a shatter-resistant front line of defense against dust, flying debris and other airborne irritants. Ultralight and optically precise, they don't just meet all ANSI standards for optical clarity and impact resistance, they exceed them.

Slider Series:
Shatter-resistant, versatile, interchangeable lens system for multiple sports and varied light conditions.

Changing lenses will become easier after the first few times.
Each Slider includes:
Sienna Brown, Gold Lite and Yellow lens sets. |
| TO REMOVE A LENS: With the sunglass facing towards you, hold the frame at the nosebridge. Grasp the lens between your palm and your index and middle fingers. Slide the lens firmly and slowly in an upward motion rotating it from the inside out. |
TO INSERT A LENS: Reverse the sequence. Place the outer edge of the lens in the corresponding frame slot and slowly press down on the top edge of the lens until it slides firmly into place.
